About the facilitator:
Most know Brian as Bugsy McMahon, a familiar face around Donaghmore here in Co. Tyrone.
Having just finished the thrilling Theatre of Screams for Halloween, and about to start into not 1 but 2 movies, among a number of other thespian activities, Bugsy is back to lead us through the creative process, opening up the writing process, freeing the brain connections to come up with material, characters and plots.
Currently artistic director of the Bardic Theatre, Brian has about 20 pies in the oven - preparing productions across Mid Ulster, working with groups with special needs, creating events for the Bardic Theatre, running workshops to explore the psychology and elements of acting - and this with a young family in tow! An idle person he is not 🙂
Bugsy lives and breathes performing arts - from acting, teaching, writing, directing to producing; he is involved in every aspect of the art. His passion lies with his innovative B Dramatic teaching method which uses physical learning around the subject matter, rather than just stationary book-learning, and this has already been hailed a success in his teaching post at Southwest College, with a number of his students obtaining places in prestigious acting schools in London and further afield.
His acting clubs in primary schools are always met with much excitement and Bugsy aims to expand his learning method to different disciplines, to provide another medium for students to access learning.
We are working to make our events safe for participants, observing the best social distancing and sanitisation guidelines. As part of this, we will register participants at the start of each class, sanitise hands and take contact details for Track & Trace. Please arrive early to ensure this is done before class starts to ensure full value of session.
Participants from the same household and bubble can work at the same station, otherwise participants will be spaced safely apart.
